Trauma Nurse Coordinator
The Trauma Clinical Nurse Coordinator provides specialized nursing care to trauma patients and their families. He/she works in conjunction with trauma surgeons, residents and nursing staff during the resuscitative, post-resuscitative, recovery, and rehabilitative phases of trauma care. This is accomplished through direct patient care, development of trauma related standards, education of other care givers, and measuring outcomes of care. In addition, the TNC is responsible for assisting Jordan Valley Medical Center in meeting the requirements of trauma-specific regulatory bodies. The TNC provides nursing leadership within the field of trauma nursing for the continuous development and evaluation of patient care and trauma system standards.
He/she coordinates the provision of clinical care and education to patients and families and acts as a resource person. He/she provides ongoing continuing education to other professionals engaged in trauma care. He/she provides critical review of clinical care, identifies opportunities for improvement in care and actively works toward that end. Produces and maintains trauma inpatient data specific to role. The TCNC may have specific duties assigned to assist the department in meeting the requirements of the trauma center and improving and evaluating care.
- Current RN license in the State of Utah
- Minimumm of 2 years Trauma experience
- Current BLS (CPR) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
- PALS and ACLS certifications
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) or equivalent (instructor status preferred).
