Orthopedic Service Line Clinical Coordinator

Provides indirect patient care in Orthopedics. Maintains oversight responsibility of the Department under the management of the director. Must maintain a high level of clinical expertise in order to provide assistance to unit and act as a resource to nursing staff. Effectively interacts with patients, physicians, and other health team members while maintaining professional standards. Ensures that care is of the best quality, is cost contained, and is carried out in an expeditious manner. Consults with Nursing Directors, Admin, and Director on clinical problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the patient; possess the ability to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures and skills check lists.

This position will oversee service line development, coordination with the orthopedic providers, community physical therapy, and surgical services. Will ensure continuity of care and quality for the entire orthopedic service line and lead the initiative to remain a joint center of excellence.

Requirements:

  • Current BLS (CPR) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
  • Two or more years of recent Orthopedics or Hospital service line experience
  • Previous supervisory experience helpful
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Additional languages helpful.
