The Materials Coordinator is responsible for optimizing, maintaining, and purchasing inventory for the hospital and PAR locations throughout the facility. Trains receiving and distribution staff. Responsible for placing purchase orders, order confirmations, and management of back orders. Interfaces with Accounts Payable to ensure invoice accuracy. Responsible for vendor relations, negotiation, and product research. Responsible for the PAR level systems in the storeroom and throughout the facility, including the adjustment of par levels and related functions such as data entry and reports in the Materials Management Information System. Demonstrates the knowledge and assessment skills necessary to communicate, educate, and provide a therapeutic and safe environment for specific age groups served. Must be able to respect diversity of each individuals values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. Must effectively interact with peers, managers, and other health team members while maintaining quality standards. Participates in hospital and department performance improvement activities. Other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree, bachelors degree, or equivalent with at least two year experience, or the ability to learn and demonstrate competency after successful completion of a training program.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages helpful. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in excel and be knowledgeable or have willingness to learn integrated Materials Management Information System.
